Presentation:

The Space Between is a beautifully shot and heartfelt film that follows the journey of Marco, a former talented chef who was forced to give up his aspirations due to family vicissitudes. The movie takes the audience on a rollercoaster ride of emotions as it explores themes of love, loss, and the pursuit of dreams.

The film begins with Marco's chance meeting with Audrey, an Australian restaurateur, who offers him a job at her restaurant chain in Melbourne. Despite her admiration for his talent, Marco refuses the offer, unprepared for the idea of changing his life and leaving his city for the second time.

Shortly after the encounter, Marco's life undergoes a sudden and dramatic shock with the disappearance of Claudio, his best friend. The tragedy leaves Marco devastated and unable to react. But, the chance meeting with Olivia, a young Australian passing through the city, makes him see an unexpected light at the end of the tunnel, as well as a concrete possibility of pursuing his dreams again.

The film's director, Ruth Borgobello, does an excellent job of giving a classic love story a more international scope and invoice. Her ambition is evident in the effective, raw, and unconventional management of the main narrative passage of the film. The parallel and unpredictable evolution of the two main characters adds depth and complexity to the story. The aesthetic refinements of the film are impressive, and the emotional scenes are well-executed.

The Space Between is a moving and poignant film that touches on universal themes of loss, love, and hope. The film in its emotional journey is an experience that is worth watching. It will leave the audience with a sense of hope and the belief that even when life throws us curveballs, there is always a way to pursue our dreams.
